Always.

You know this cliche ass story that everyone has heard at least once before, the one about the two best friends who fall madly in love with each other? Well, this is what this story exactly is.
This is the one about Harry and Emma who have been best friends for as long as both of them can remember. They have been there for each other through everything puberty, bad break ups, parents' divorce and parents' death.
Everything changed between Harry and Emma when one day they decided to go clubbing. Emma was getting a bit drunk and had started dancing with some guy who was getting too close and touchy for Harry's liking but can you really blame him? it's not at all easy to watch the love of your life being touched allover by a random guy who has the dirtiest thoughts swimming around his head and thus, Harry did the inevitable and scared the guy away before taking her out of the club so, she could sober up a bit but of course Emma being Emma kept groaning and yelling about how she was having fun and wanted to go back inside. Harry being used to drunk Emma just ignored her and announced the end of their night to which Emma responded with the last thing Harry expected and kissed him.
Now, Harry knew damn well that Emma loved him too but he also knew that love scared her to no end and that she also didn't want to risk their friendship because as sad as it was for her he was the only person she had left after her parents' death but as he kissed her back he thought that she had finally decided to open up to love and give him a chance. After their kiss, They went back to Harry's place where they just cuddled and fell asleep (Which wasn't a new thing for them, they always did that.).
The next morning, when Harry woke up Emma was gone. At first, he thought she was in the toilet but after checking his entire place he knew she had left. He didn't really think much of it but when three days had passed and Emma still hadn't answered his calls or texts he knew something was wrong so, he went to her place and the first words she uttered after opening the door was that their kiss meant nothing. And that was the breaking point for Harry because he knew she was lying, it was written across her face and he was done hurting because of her cowardliness so, he just let it all out and told her how she couldn't do that, how she couldn't kiss him and then say it meant nothing because he knew so damn well that it meant a lot because as cheesy as it sounded he felt it. He felt it when her lips touched his but she still denied it and told him that they could never be anything more that just friends. And that was when Harry made the biggest mistake in his life and called her selfish. Now, anyone would think that she was actually selfish breaking his heart and all but Harry of all people knew what this word just this one specific word could do to her. It was the last word her parents said to her before their car crash and she never saw them again. So, as the years passed by Emma grew to hate herself and believe that she was a terrible worthless person but Harry always told her otherwise and made her feel worth something. But when he called her by that same word she just broke. She had told him that he was right before leaving her own place and running away from him and as much as Harry wanted to go after her and apologize and tell her how amazing she actually was, he didn't because he knew she needed space but he wasn't going to leave either so, he waited right there in front of her apartment door till two in the morning when he began to get really worried because he knew that this time she wouldn't be calling him for comfort and that she was somewhere alone. After racking his brain for places she could be, he knew exactly where she was. He drove the two hours out of town to the graveyard where he found her right in front of her parents' stones sobbing and mumbling about how they were right, she was selfish and how she had no one left not even Harry. And without even thinking Harry just took her into his arms and told her how she would always have him no matter what, how she wasn't selfish and how she was just a bit of a coward. It was in that moment that Emma decided to let go of her cowardliness and kissed him yet again but this time with way more passion.
"It meant so much, the kiss I mean." Emma said when they had pulled away.
"I love you." Harry whispered back.
"I love you too, HarryBoo."
